Cox training weekend

Many thanks to the committee for organising a fantastic Cox training weekend on Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th April, to Dave Polson for hosting Topher, and to Skye Bridge Studios for use of their equipment and facilities. It was a great turnout, with members attending from SSLCRC, Plockton, Portree and Lorn Rowing Club.

The Saturday session focused on theory and included some on-land role-playing. On Sunday, we took to the water under Topher’s guidance, learning and practicing new coxing skills, such as quick turns and man overboard drills.

All attendees agreed that the weekend was highly beneficial, and we are eager to practice and solidify these new skills. Notably, we now have a larger pool of coxes, which eases the pressure on experienced coxes and allows for more rowing sessions to take place.
