This row had been on our bucket list for ages, and it was an epic endurance event and a terrific day out! It was our longest row yet, covering a whopping 22k from Kyleakin to Bernera Bay.

With a crew of 8, we set off from Kyleakin just after 10am on Saturday 21st July. Crew and coxes swapped seats along the way, with Big Al supporting us in the βBig Lebowskiβ. As we neared the narrows on the outward leg, the passage looked frisky and we knew we were in for a thrill. With a steady cox and a crew ready for excitement, we decided to go for it.

OMG, what a ride! We were tossed about like clothes in a washing machine, but our experienced crew took it all in stride. Nearing the beach, we were greeted by a delightful show of seals jumping and diving around us.

After waving hello to the The Original Glenelg-Skye Ferry crew and passengers, we beached up and had lunch. The Kyle Lifeboat RNLI crew also gave us a big wave as they passed by. The return leg was much calmer, and we leisurely pootled back to Kyleakin.

What an unforgettable adventure! π£ββοΈ
